Weddings are always very personal and unique celebrations, with each one having its own nuances. Even still, the overall wedding trends can give inspiration to bride-to-be’s for their own extravaganzas! Here are some of the exciting new trends for weddings to look for and adopt in 2007:

Engagement Rings
What’s new and exciting is what’s old and (highly) personal this year! Vintage bridal jewelry is back with in full force! The intricate designs and delicate beauty of vintage engagement rings give a girl that one-of-a-kind feeling. If vintage jewelry isn’t your thing, you can still achieve the unique, one-of-a-kind feeling with custom-made engagement rings. What was hot last year is still in the forefront: white metals and multi-stone rings (even pave diamond settings).

Pre-Party Partying!
When it comes to weddings, who can forget about the parties before the big wedding bash? The girls are having as much of a blast as the guys in true getaway style! From Miami to Los Angeles, everyone’s getting in on the pre-wedding festivities. Even the bridal couple are now taking “minimoons” together, as a little break from the wedding planning process, anywhere from weekend getaways relaxing at the beach to fun-filled ski weekends in the Rockies.

Weddings with Glamour and Style
Glamour is the focus this year! Fewer couples are hosting the casual gathering type weddings and opting for more elegant, sophisticated and, of course, glamorous celebrations with some even spanning the whole weekend. Expect to see more candelabras, custom-this and designer-that at this year’s weddings. Also, better get those passports and travel bags ready! Trends predict many more destination or at least unusual location weddings. Anywhere from a foreign country (the one on the tip of everyone’s tongue is Italy, by the way!) to zoos and museums. Regardless of where or how elegant these weddings are this year, everyone seems to be keeping an eye out for the environment. You’ll be seeing many more pesticide-free flowers, invitations made with recycled paper (or online to save paper), and organic items on the menu. Especially for those second-weddings and later-in-life weddings, couples are asking for charitable donations rather than gifts. That’s definitely one way to go glamorous!

The New Colors for the Year
Earthy colors are the focus this year! Browns, oranges, reds! You’ll see a few jewel-like colors too: purples and turquoises. And as always, metallics! Now considered a staple, silvers and golds are always good choices for wedding colors. They go well with everything and can support splashes of the current trendy colors. Consider using sashes or other details to incorporate these awesome new colors into your wedding.

Wedding Ceremony with New Tweakings
For many wedding ceremonies, the lasting tradition has been the unity candle. However, new variations on the candle ceremony are becoming popular. There is the wine unity ceremony and the sand unity ceremony. The same idea works with both wine and sand: the couple pours wine from two different sources into one cup and drink from it or the couple pours sand from two different sources into one vase or vessel. For more spiritual (less religious) weddings, the sand unity ceremony is a great way to incorporate other loved ones into the ceremony.
