Oh the tales of debauchery and scandal that one hears about the eve of a wedding! But how do you avoid those rumors? With the BrideFu List of To and Not To Do on Your Wedding Eve!

  • Have everything ready BEFORE the eve of your wedding. Be prepared and have your honeymoon luggage already packed and ready to go and whatever you, your bridal party or wedding planner (if you hired one) need should already be packed and ready to go. Don’t wait until the last minute. Keep your wedding eve a stress-free zone! No last minute packing or putting favors together or anything like that. Be sure to plan for everything to be ready by the eve of your wedding so you can relax!

  • At dinner, make sure to eat an awesome, filling dinner! You’ll want to eat plenty of foods that will give you lots of energy for the Big Day. Now that doesn’t mean to eat until you have to move the belt loop but definitely eat enough to fill you up. Try to avoid anything spicy and any decadent and rich desserts. They won’t add to your good night’s rest and can actually keep you awake all night.

  • During the rehearsal dinner, resist the urge to drink unlimited cocktails (or any unlimited alcohol for that matter)! If you really want to drink alcohol, stick to one glass of wine or champagne for toasting. To really calm your nerves and make you feel better (and look awesome), drink water. It will make you feel even better than alcohol would because drinking alcohol while being a bundle of nerves can result in getting totally drunk and could negatively affect your wedding. So, to be safe, one glass of wine or champagne plus plenty of water!

  • Surround yourself with pleasant people or family and friends who you are close to as well as, of course, your bridal party and fiancĂ©. Try to avoid being around people who may annoy or frustrate you. In general, keep your stress level as low as possible and remain calm.
  • Once your rehearsal dinner is over and you’ve retired to your room, meditate for a little while to destress and bring your body to calmness. The key is to spend some quality alone time in a quiet place visualizing and thinking about your wedding day. To relax yourself even more, try an aromatherapy bath with aromatherapy candles and soft, relaxing music to soothe you.

  • As much as people may urge you to, don’t go out after your rehearsal dinner. Surely everyone wants you to have a great time and be happy but, in reality, you’re the one getting married tomorrow! With the awesome planning that you did, just be sure to be well-rested for your Big Day! Your well-intentioned and loving family, friends and other guests will be even more excited for you when they see you tomorrow as the beautiful blushing bride!

  • Go to sleep as early as you can! Everyone around you (and you included) will be buzzing with excitement but make sure you make some time for yourself to unwind and relax before you drift off to sleep. Do things that make you happy and that can relax you. Tomorrow you can let your nerves loose with excitement but for the night, relax and sleep in preparation for your Big Day!
