Today’s Weddings
Friday, January 26th, 2007In comparison to previous generations, it seems the wedding, as an entity, is becoming more about the bridal couple rather than about traditions or customs. Here are some reasons as to why:
- The bride and groom are more likely to be the ones paying for the wedding (over a third of today’s brides and grooms are footing the bill)
- Nowadays, it’s common to see couples getting married later in life after having established themselves as individuals
- Because of their larger financial responsibility and the timing, couples have to be self-sufficient enough to pay for the wedding and need to know what it is they want
